Justice Bus iPads

Each of the four Justice Buses have a dedicated iPad tablet configured as a Legal Kiosk. These mobile legal aid clinics are equipped to allow users to join a Zoom meeting, apply for legal aid, or browse legal topics like they would on any other Legal Kiosk. If you are responsible for a Justice Bus, here's what you need to know about the iPads.

Starting a Session

There are no locks or passwords on the device, so you should not have any issues getting started with your session. If you have any issues using the iPad, please contact our technology provider, Tech by Design.

Connecting to Wifi

The Justice Bus iPads should automatically connect to the wifi available on the Justice Bus. If you are having wifi connectivity issues, please contact our technology provider, Tech by Design.

Joining a Zoom Meeting

Before attempting to sign in to a meeting, please make sure you have the information below.

  • Meeting date and time
  • Meeting ID or Meeting Room Name and password information so you can log into the right meeting
If you have not been sent the information above, please contact the person who organized the meeting.
Microsoft Teams meetings are not available at this time. If you have been scheduled for a meeting using Teams, please contact the organizer and let them know you will not be able to use that platform.

Each Zoom meeting has a unique number called a meeting ID that will be required to join a meeting. This is an example of a Zoom invitation you might receive from someone that wants to schedule a meeting with you.

Join Zoom Meeting


Meeting ID: 123 4567 8910

Passcode: 123456

You must join the Zoom meeting from the app and not through the web browser like you can on Model B Kiosks.
  1. To join or start a Zoom meeting on the iPad, click on the home button to bring you to the iPad's home screen where you can see all the apps.
  2. Tap on the Zoom icon.
  3. When prompted, enter your Meeting ID and passcode.

Using Files

You can download, create, edit, and save files just like you can on another Legal Kiosk. The most important thing to remember is the iPad WILL NOT clear your files and personal data unlike regular Legal Kiosks.

You must delete your files and clear your search history manually.

Sanitizing the iPad

While the onscreen instructions will prompt the users to use hand sanitizer before touching the iPad, we also recommend staff wipe the iPad down in between clients to protect everyone.

Charging the iPad

Justice Buses are equipped with iPad chargers and iPads can be charged anytime the generator is powered on.

Finding the iPad

If the Justice Bus iPad goes missing, it is easy to find. We have location tracking turned on and can find it wherever it is. Please contact our technology provider, Tech by Design and they will be able to find it.
